Struggle to keep on top of things? Want to be more organised at work, home or in anything else you do in life? Find it hard to keep motivated? I thought I would help, well at least try, by telling you some of the tips and tricks that I use myself. Now I must be honest, I do have my down/off days, as we all do, where being motivated and organising my life just isn't my main priority. However, on the occasions that I want to get my butt in gear, these are a few of the things I do to help.
NOTES, LIST, WRITE WRITE WRITE -
I am a sucker for keeping lists and making notes anywhere and everywhere I can. Whether it be on my phone, in a notebook, little pieces of paper or even on the back of my hand if needs be. It helps me remember what I need to do or things I need to sort out in the week. I would definitely recommend getting a little notebook for yourself or use your notes in your phone to jot stuff down.
ALARMS AND REMINDERS -
I am very, very forgetful. A good way to keep track of time is setting reminders/alarms on your phone. On iPhones, it has its own app for reminders where you create an event and then set a time you would like to be reminded of it and also the importance of it. If your phone doesn't have something like that then you can always set alarms to help keep track too.
PLANNING -
Keep a diary or again use your calendar on your phone to keep on top and plan ahead so you don't double book your time, I do this a lot with my driving lessons and work, as well as anything that may take up most of my day.
STAYING MOTIVATED -
So, let's be honest, I don't think there's one person that doesn't have a least one day where they just don't feel up to doing anything and just wish for the day to be over. A few things that I do are to keep a tidy bedroom, it makes your head feel clearer when you don't have clutter in your room everywhere. Try to plan something for the day, plan things in the future so you have something to look forward to. It could literally be anything, shopping, hanging with friends or family, holidays/day trips, whatever is right for you. Set yourself little goals or big goals, depending on how adventurous you're feeling. Whether it's life or work related, maybe something you've been wanting for a really long time, always think positive and achieve your goal. Don't be too hard on yourself and give yourself a break. You're only human and more times than we would like, something happens unexpectedly that you definitely didn't want to happen. That's life, just try to move on from it.
Those are just a few of the things I do that help me, from time to time I might change a few ways I do things or try something new, but for the basics that pretty much it. I hope that some of you found this helpful, and leave a comment telling me some of your ways of staying motivated and organised.
