How is everyone doing? I can't believe it's March already, let's start the month with a brand new post about the Marc Jacobs highliner matte gel eyeliners*. I did receive these products complimentary of Marc Jacobs and Influenster but all opinions are my own.
I was so excited when I received these in the post. I had no idea they were coming. I couldn't wait to try them out! I received 2 colours, 'Pink Of Me' and '(Earth)Quake'. 'Pink Of Me' is a light pale, baby pink shade and '(Earth)Quake' is a soft brown shade.
I immediately tested them out on the back of my hand to test the colour pigmentation, texture and how easily that smudged. I loved the colours, I thought that the pink shade wouldn't show up as much because of it is pretty light but it's a beautiful colour and makes your eyes pop. The brown is just your basic brown eyeliner but I love it!
It's supposed to give the same effect of a gel liner from a pot but in a pencil form. It glides on so smooth and doesn't tug or pull on the eyelid. They have multiple uses as well, either use as a normal eyeliner, on the lower lash line or waterline. What I like to do with the brown shade is blend it out as eyeliner, slightly onto the eyelid and add a tiny bit of brown eyeshadow on top to blend it that little bit more.
It's very pigmentated, it lasts quite a while and doesn't smudge at all. You do have to leave it to set for about a minute for it not to smudge. When I had it on the back of my hand it only came off when I used some soap and water.
Would I recommend them? Of course, it's a must-have in your makeup bag and they also have a collection of other shades online.
